Rusalka is inspired by the water spirits from Slavic folklore.

A rusalka is often described as a beautiful, mysterious being who lives in lakes or rivers. According to some folklorists, rusalki were believed to be the spirits of young women who died tragically in water, often after great emotional pain or mistreatment. In these stories, those who drowned themselves because of heartbreak or despair, or those who were killed, were said to return as malicious spirits.

Although I worked with a model in the studio, I changed some of her facial features and adjusted the colors to give her a more mystical, otherworldly look. The background is imaginary and meant to feel like the dreamlike world a rusalka might come from rather than a real place.

Near the Pond continues the same idea explored in Rusalka, but in a quieter and more peaceful way. The painting shows a nude woman sitting beside an overgrown pond, looking melancholically into the water. Her pose and expression suggest a moment of reflection, as if she is caught between calmness and longing.

As with Rusalka, I used a model for the figure, but the background is completely imaginary. The pond, plants, and atmosphere are created to feel dreamlike

Watermelon Season is a bright, joyful painting that captures the warmth of a summer day. Three figures are shown enjoying slices of watermelon, sharing a moment that feels light, playful and full of sunshine.

Although I used myself as the reference for all three portraits, each figure has been changed and transformed, becoming their own character rather than a direct self-portrait. The focus is on the feeling of the scene rather than realism: the happiness, the color, and the simple pleasure of summer.

Card Night shows three friends gathered around a table, playing cards by candlelight. The scene is dark but warm, creating a cozy feeling as if the quiet glow of the candle draws the figures closer together.

I used myself as the reference for all three portraits, but each character has been changed so they feel like separate people rather than self-portraits.
